Excitement

The wedding is getting closer and closer, and we are getting more and more plans figured out. It's really, really exciting.
One of the most exciting things right now is the photography. One of Mike's friend's husbands is a ridiculously talented photographer, and he's going to shoot the wedding for them... FOR FREE! It's great because we really had no budget for photography, and therefore weren't going to have any. Now we are, and seriously could not be more thrilled. Looking through his work, you can clearly tell that Tony knows what he is doing.
My mother's dress will be here within a few days. Can't wait to see what it looks like on her. We are very nervous/excited but I guess that's what happens when you have to order it online. I still don't have a dress, nor does the flower girl. We'll be going on a shopping endeavor for them soon, however. After browsing online, I've not come across anything I'm too thrilled about wearing. Fingers crossed, there'll be something somewhere that'll be perfect. Things seem to always come together like a dream at the last minute for us.
We're hoping that all this snow melts soon, and all the mud dries quickly after that so that prepping of the backyard can begin. Candles and twinkle lights still need to be purchased. We've also got to figure out something for the guests to stand on during the ceremony. We're thinking particle boards, or some sort of outdoor carpeting. Although particle boards will be the more economical choice.
We've got tons of things to start making too. Like the stars for Madi to toss out. The glitter packets for people to toss at my mother and Mike as they come back up the aisle. The Champagne flutes for the vip's. The candles honoring Mike's mom and dad, who have passed on. Those have to be done secretly though because Mike will not know about them until Austin carries them up the aisle during the ceremony.
There's still A LOT to do and figure out, but it's coming together. Really. Homespun weddings are a labor of love.
